Qualifications

- Good communication skill. Since some butchers deal with customers, it is important that you have a pleasing personality and good English speaking skills. With this skill, you can do sales talk and increase your sales. Aside from that, you can also communicate properly with your co-workers so that you can minimize conflict during operation.
- Good personal hygiene. For health and sanitation purposes, maintaining your personal hygiene is required. Other than that, you should also be conscious about the cleanliness of your workplace and tools. Food processing facilities are inspected regularly by the FDA to ensure that their employees follow the regulation in food processing.
- Physically fit. Butchers work in cold areas such as coolers or freezers. They also carry heavy animal carcasses that can drain their energy. For these reasons, being strong and physically fit is required, thus, you must toughen yourself and strengthen your immune system.
What are the requirements to become a Manager?
For you to become a manager, you should have lots of experience, knowledge and of course skilful in slaughtering animals, disembowelling, and cutting their meats. Your role is to make sure that the operation of the business runs smoothly. You will also supervise other butchers, carry out inventory and order meats.
